We are stewards of our investors’ money and carefully select investments using Christian ethical criteria. Epworth manages assets of around £1 billion and is wholly owned by the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church – a statutory body established by the Methodist Church Funds Act 1960.

Chief Executive Officer
In 2017 David become the Chief Executive Officer of the Firm. After a long career in wealth management, David has oversight of our investment team. He started his career with the stockbrokers, Williams de Broe, in 1986 – joining just in time to experience the deregulation of the London stock market in the Big Bang and then the market crash of October 1987.
David’s career has seen him spend time in both the Channel Islands and the United States. In fund management, he specialised in the fixed interest markets before taking on broader leadership roles with the merchant bank Rea Brothers and the UK private client business of Assicurazioni Generali. As well as a background in the UK private client sector, David has had executive and non-executive roles in the management of listed investment trusts and hedge funds.
David has the diploma of the London Stock Exchange and was a founding fellow of the Securities Institute (now known as the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment). David is also a Sloan Fellow from MIT’s MBA programme.
CloseDeputy Chief Executive Officer
Andrew joined the firm in April 2021 and currently serves as Deputy CEO. In this role, he oversees the business development and client relations teams, while maintaining a core focus on ethical thought leadership. He is also an Executive Director of Epworth.
Originally from Texas and ordained in the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Andrew previously held the position of Director of Global & Learning Innovation at Cliff College, a graduate and postgraduate evangelical learning community affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Andrew holds postgraduate qualifications in theology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and has completed his Doctor of Ministry at Wesley University in Nigeria.
CloseHead of Discretionary Services
Sarah joined Epworth in January 2022 and serves as Head of Discretionary Services, where she oversees all aspects of Epworth’s client services as well as managing our Discretionary Service for Charities. With more than 15 years’ experience in financial services, Sarah has built a strong track record in managing portfolios for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, charities, and institutions.
Prior to joining Epworth, Sarah held investment management roles at several leading wealth management firms, including Ashcourt Rowan, Towry, and Tilney Smith & Williamson. This breadth of experience has equipped her expertise in discretionary portfolio management and a commitment to delivering tailored solutions that align with clients’ values and long‑term objectives.
Sarah is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
CloseHead of Business Development
Simon joined Epworth in 2022 as Head of Business Development. Having been in Financial Services since 1988, he started his career with Sun Life, which ultimately became AXA Wealth Management.
Simon spent 30 years with AXA in various marketing and sales roles, ultimately making the move into sales management where was running various teams across platform, pensions and investments. His experience of running large teams made him the natural choice of the Isle of Man distribution team that became Utmost Wealth, where he was running both the UK sales team, and the Isle of Man Marketing and technical teams.
Since leaving AXA, Simon led distribution teams for two Fin-tech startups, including Flagstone so brings a depth of experience to Epworth, having worked in both large corporates and smaller SMEs.
CloseHead of Asset Allocation
Matthew Jones, CFA joined Epworth in 2014. He holds a First-Class Economics Degree and is a CFA Institute Charterholder. He also holds the CFA’s Sustainable Investment and Investment Management Certificates.
Matt became the manager of the Epworth Multi-Asset Fund in 2022 and is Chair of Epworth’s Asset Allocation and Fund Selection Committees. He has a background in equity analysis and corporate engagement, as well as experience managing cash and fixed income strategies.
Matt is a voluntary elected member of his local church council, where he sits on the finance and sustainability groups. His experience provides him a unique insight into modern investment challenges facing faith investors, and he regularly presents to clients and at conferences on these themes.

Lina joined the firm in October 2023 as the Head of Finance and is responsible for the financial management of the business.
She has previously worked across a range of sectors both in the UK and internationally.
Lina has an MSc in Economics and a BSc in Finance Management. She is also an Associate of the CIMA.
CloseHead of Compliance & HR
In 2017, Vanessa became the Head of Compliance and the Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the firm, having over 30 years of experience in financial services. She started her career as a Sales Trader at BZW Securities Ltd in 1992. Those early years enabled Vanessa to gain a deep understanding of markets, client needs and the fast-paced nature of a front office role.
About a decade ago, Vanessa made the career shift from front office trading to compliance. Vanessa joined Williams de Broe as a Compliance Manager and then went on to work at several private client and asset management UK firms. This allowed her to apply her commercial and trading experience to help strengthen regulatory frameworks and promote a strong culture of governance and integrity.
Three years ago Vanessa also took on the role as Head of Human Resources.
Vanessa has a BA Hons degree and is a member of the Executive Committee. She has completed London Stock Exchange Exams and she holds the SMF 16/17 position within the firm.

Miles has worked at the firm for over 20 years. He is Head of Research and has overall responsibility for identifying quality companies that fit our investment philosophy.
He oversees a team of five people, ensuring their research meets all our investment and ethical requirements.
Miles has an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School.
